I have blogged about Maltego before (when it was called Evolution). It’s an amazing tool for reconnaissance, and the amount of information you can collect and display just from the web is amazing. It was so good, I had feared that like many great free and open source tools, the project would die unexpectedly and no longer be maintained.

Well, that’s definitely not the case with Maltego. I had the privilege of attending the talk at this year’s Black Hat Europe in Amsterdam, and Paterva gave an excellent presentation on using Maltego. It is still very active and is evolving (no pun intended) nicely.
